Below are the questions our Murfreesboro neighbors ask most often before booking a haul-away. If you don’t see your situation covered, call (629) 280-2785 for a free, no-pressure quote, or visit our contact page to send photos.

Pricing & Payment

How is junk removal priced in Murfreesboro?

Junk removal in Murfreesboro is priced by volume, not weight or hourly labor. We measure how much space your items take up in the truck — quarter, half, three-quarter, or full load — and quote a flat price that includes labor, hauling, and disposal fees. Volume-based pricing keeps your quote predictable: a heavy treadmill and a light foam couch occupy roughly the same footprint, so they cost roughly the same to remove. See the full breakdown on our junk removal cost page.

How much does junk removal cost?

Most Murfreesboro jobs land in these ranges: a single-item or quarter-truck pickup runs about $95 to $175, a half-truck (a small bedroom’s worth) is $200 to $350, three-quarter loads are typically $325 to $475, and a full 15-cubic-yard truckload runs $400 to $625. Items that need extra labor (long carries from a basement, second-floor furniture, hot tubs, pianos) may add a small surcharge, but the quote you get up front is what you pay. For full pricing tiers and what fits in each truck size, read the cost page.

Do you offer free estimates? How do they work?

Yes, every estimate is free with no obligation. You can text or email a few photos for a written quote within the hour, or we can do a quick on-site walkthrough before we touch anything. The price we give you in writing is the price you pay — no add-ons after the truck is loaded. If the pile turns out smaller than estimated, the price drops accordingly.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, cash, and personal or business checks. Payment is collected after the haul is complete and you’ve inspected the cleared space, not before. Landlords, property managers, and estate executors who need invoicing on net-15 or net-30 terms can request that when they book.

Are there hidden fees?

No. The flat-rate quote covers labor for two crew members, the truck and fuel, dump or transfer-station fees, and basic broom-sweeping of the cleared area. The only items that can change a quote are things you didn’t mention up front — extra rooms added the day of, items requiring special handling like refrigerant recovery or mattress encapsulation, or a load that turns out larger than the photos suggested. In those cases we tell you the new price before any extra work begins.

Scheduling & Pickup

How fast can you pick up?

Same-day pickup is usually available if you call before noon, and next-day slots are almost always open. We schedule arrival windows in two-hour blocks (for example, 9–11 AM or 1–3 PM) so you’re not stuck waiting all afternoon. For move-out deadlines, real-estate closings, or estate-cleanout timelines, we’ll lock in a specific date up to several weeks in advance.

Do you do same-day pickups?

Yes, same-day haul-aways are part of how we work. Call before noon and there’s a strong chance we can have a crew at your address that afternoon. Mid-summer (June through August) gets busy with MTSU move-outs, so booking the day before is smart during that stretch.

Do you do single-item pickups?

Absolutely. A single sectional, mattress, fridge, or treadmill all qualify as a quarter-truck job. Pricing for a single bulky item typically runs $95 to $175 depending on stairs and access. There’s no minimum order beyond that — if you’ve only got one thing to get rid of, we’ll come get it.

Do I need to be home for the pickup?

No. As long as the items are accessible from a driveway, garage, curb, or unlocked space, we can complete the haul without you on-site. Many landlords and out-of-town property owners do a quick phone or video walkthrough with us in advance, then we send a photo of the cleared space and collect payment by card over the phone. This is also how we handle a lot of estate cleanouts where the executor lives outside Rutherford County.

Do I need to sort or move anything before you arrive?

No prep is required. Point at the pile, the room, or the garage and we handle the rest — disassembling furniture, navigating stairs, protecting walls, and sweeping up after. If you’d like certain items kept (an old dresser headed to a family member, tools that should stay in the shed), just flag those when we arrive.

What We Take

What types of items do you remove?

We remove just about anything that isn’t hazardous. The most common items we haul out of Murfreesboro homes and properties are:

  • Sectional couches, recliners, sleeper sofas, and other furniture
  • Mattresses, box springs, and bedroom sets
  • Refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and other large appliances
  • Treadmills, ellipticals, weight benches, and home gym equipment
  • TVs, monitors, computers, and other electronics
  • Hot tubs, above-ground pools, and play sets (disassembled)
  • Garage and shed contents — tools, lawn equipment, paint cans (empty/dry), holiday decor
  • Attic and basement clutter — boxes, old toys, paperwork, broken furniture (see garage and attic cleanout)
  • Estate-cleanout contents from a full house (see estate cleanout)
  • Yard debris, fence panels, deck boards, and storm-cleanup material
  • Light remodeling debris — drywall scraps, cabinets, flooring, fixtures (non-commercial volumes)

What can’t junk haulers take?

By federal and Tennessee regulations, no licensed junk hauler can transport household hazardous waste (HHW) or biohazards in a standard truck. The items we can’t take include:

  • Wet or partially-full paint, stains, solvents, and pool chemicals
  • Motor oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze, gasoline, and other automotive fluids
  • Asbestos-containing materials (older insulation, vinyl tile, popcorn ceiling)
  • Ammunition, firearms, fireworks, and explosives
  • Propane tanks, oxygen cylinders, and other compressed gas
  • Medical waste, prescription medication, and used sharps
  • Untreated animal carcasses or biological waste

For these items, the Rutherford County Convenience Center accepts household hazardous waste from local residents on scheduled HHW collection days. Latex paint can be dried out (mix in cat litter or paint hardener until solid) and then thrown in regular trash. Pharmacies and the Murfreesboro Police Department host periodic drug take-back events for unused prescriptions.

Do you take refrigerators and appliances with refrigerant?

Yes. Refrigerators, freezers, window AC units, and dehumidifiers all contain refrigerant gas that the EPA requires to be recovered before the unit is scrapped. We work with a licensed recycling partner that performs certified refrigerant recovery, then recycles the metal shell. There’s no extra charge from us for that handling — it’s included in the standard appliance pickup price.

Do you donate or recycle items?

Whenever an item has life left, we route it to a donation partner instead of the landfill. Usable furniture, working appliances, and building materials go to Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Murfreesboro and Smyrna. Clothing, housewares, and small goods go to Goodwill of Middle Tennessee. Scrap metal — appliances, fencing, exercise equipment frames — is recycled at a local metals yard. We send roughly half of what we pick up somewhere other than the dump.

Is there a weight limit?

No weight limit. Pricing is based purely on volume — how much space the load takes up in the truck — so a half-truck of dense concrete from a small slab demo costs the same as a half-truck of pillows. The only restriction is that any single item we lift needs to be physically movable by a two-person crew. Items in the 600-pound-plus range (gun safes, full upright pianos, slate pool tables) get a quick conversation about whether we’ll need a third hand or specialty equipment.

How big is a “truck” load?

Our standard truck holds about 15 cubic yards — roughly the volume of six standard pickup-truck beds, or a 12-foot-by-8-foot-by-5-foot box. To visualize loads:

  • Quarter truck (~3.75 cubic yards): a couch and a recliner, or a treadmill plus a few boxes
  • Half truck (~7.5 cubic yards): a small bedroom’s contents, or a packed garage corner
  • Three-quarter truck (~11 cubic yards): a full living room, or a cleaned-out shed
  • Full truck (~15 cubic yards): a full one-bedroom apartment cleanout, or a packed two-car garage

Access & Special Situations

Can you handle stairs, second floors, or basements?

Yes — stairs, narrow hallways, and tight corners are standard work. Our crew handles second-floor furniture in the older Boro homes near MTSU and the historic district, basement cleanouts in walkout-style ranches around Blackman and Walterhill, and third-floor apartment moves at the bigger Murfreesboro complexes. Stair counts and tight access are factored into the quote up front, so there’s no surprise charge for the labor.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We carry a Tennessee business license and full general liability insurance covering property damage and crew injury. Landlords, property managers, and HOAs can request a current Certificate of Insurance naming them as additionally insured before a job begins — we’ll send it the same day. Our insurance also covers cargo in transit, so anything in the truck on the way to the transfer station is protected.

Do you work with landlords, property managers, and estate executors?

A large share of our business is recurring work for rental property owners, real-estate agents preparing listings, and family members handling estate cleanouts from out of town. We can coordinate by phone, accept lockbox or hidden-key access, send before-and-after photos, and invoice on net terms. For full-house cleanouts where most contents are leaving, our estate cleanout service is the right starting point.

What about hoarding situations?

We handle hoarding-level cleanouts with discretion, additional crew, and a phased approach. Heavy-clutter jobs get an in-person walkthrough first so we can plan crew size, dumpster needs, and pacing. We work alongside the homeowner or family member to set aside anything they want kept (paperwork, photos, sentimental items) before the bulk haul begins. These projects can take a single long day or several scheduled visits depending on volume and access.

Service Area

What towns and ZIP codes do you serve?

We cover all of Rutherford County and the immediate surrounding area. That includes Smyrna, La Vergne, Blackman, Walterhill, Lascassas, Eagleville, Christiana, Rockvale, Almaville, Milton, and Readyville, plus all Murfreesboro ZIP codes (37127, 37128, 37129, 37130). For neighborhoods on the Davidson or Wilson County line, call us — we cover most of those too. The full map is on our areas we serve page.

Do you serve commercial properties or just homes?

Both. We pick up office cleanouts, retail-space turnovers, restaurant equipment, and storage-unit haul-outs in addition to residential work. For ongoing commercial work — recurring construction-site debris, regular property turnovers — we’ll set up a standing schedule and a stable per-load rate. See the services overview for the full list.
